I really found the article interesting. So any idea as to how to go about changing the withholding amount? Do i go to my company or refile and send to irs? So what should the number be in line number 5 to prevent under payment and the tax penalty?

[...] A $1,200 tax refund means that not only are you giving Uncle Sam an interest-free loan, you’re also depriving yourself of $100 a month. Adjust your withholding allowances so that you’re keeping an appropriate amount of money for yourself each month. Put that extra money in your emergency fund. Update: Growing Money wrote an excellent post on the concept, titled “Make More Money With The Same Paycheck“. Definitely worth reading! [...]

Great article. I briefly mentioned that concept as a technique to jumpstart an emergency savings fund, the idea being that the extra money should go straight to that account. Link: http://yourfinishrichplan.com/blog/2008/04/12/10-tips-to-jumpstart-your-emergency-savings-fund/

I will make sure I update my post and include a link to that much more detailed explanation.
