Have you heard about the March Madness this year and the potential to win a billion dollars curtsey of Warren Buffet and his company Berkshire Hathaway who have joined in partnership with Quicken Loans to offer this prize.
This was announced on Sunday that Warren Buffet is going to pay the person who can guess all winners of the 63 games $1 billion. Don’t worry if you miss out on the billion there is still another 20 chances of winning a cool $100,000 for the 20 people that come the closest to guessing the 63 games.
The prize is going to be given out in instalments of a cool $25 million per year for the next 40 years, or alternatively you can claim $500 million in a one off payment. This is a staggering amount of money with which to win and the chances of winning are really high the odds are 4,294,967,296 to 1 to win the top prize.
But what is more surprising is the amount of different options there are in filling out the brackets, if you look at this site it tells you the math behind the combinations but it is a staggering 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 different ways that these brackets can be filled out. This is the reason that the odds are so high, there are just so many different possibilities of picking the winning combination that it can seem almost impossible to even consider the possibility of entering. With the limit of entrants to one per household that could reduce the chances of putting the correct combination in drastically.
But are you going to enter for the chance to win the billion dollars? You can start the process on March 3rd, you have until March the 19th to submit your brackets, good luck I think you might need it with these odds!
What would you spend $1 billion on?
