Rebate Hassle

By | April 4, 2007

I bought a NetGear Wireless Router in December of 2006 from and submitted a rebate for $10. Last week, they mailed me a postcard indicating that they have denied my rebate request. The message was, “Invalid Purchase Location.”

That’s interesting, because posted the rebate promotion up on their site during my purchase. So, I called up the Rebate center. I had to go through a series of automatic messages that never seems to end, and they would not let me connect to a live operator directly. When I finally reach an operator, my line got disconnected. I wasn’t too happy about that. I had to call them back again and go through the same series of automatic messages. The second time around, I was able to speak to a live operator. I gave them my name and information, and they put me on hold for ten minutes. Then they told me they made a mistake and said that I should receive my rebate of $10 in 4 – 6 weeks.

Rebates are a hassle.
