The Apprentice Los Angeles episode 8 is about marketing the brand, GNC in a sports arena during half time. I learned something interesting in this episode.
Arrow’s team had a great idea and the concept was good, but it wouldn’t work in a half time sports event. Arrow’s marketing strategy required too much attention, and it was not something you would expect a sports crowd to give. The crowd would not sit there and think about. The marketing didn’t fit the environment. Perhaps it would work better in a theater.
Kinetic’s idea was more straightforward but it played out very well in the sports stadium. People in the stadium were pumped up with energy from watching soccer and it would take something exciting to keep the crowd’s attention. And Kinetic’s race challenge fitted well with the atmosphere. I would even take it a step further and use Angela’s Olympic athlete’s status to promote the brand.
